About CrossFit

CrossFit is a broad fitness regimen that is designed to improve all aspects of your fitness including stamina, strength, coordination, power, flexibility, balance and speed.

CrossFit is inclusive. Everyone benefits from improving their fitness, regardless of age. Every day life involves picking objects up from the floor, squatting, and lifting things over our heads. We need to do these movements safely, and CrossFit training improves our ability to do this. The load we move will vary in heaviness between individuals, but the need to do it is universal.

CrossFit involves compound movements i.e. involving you moving several joints. It draws on aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, and more. This adds to the enjoyment as well as leading to dramatic gains in fitness.

CrossFit MaxOn is a group of positive & friendly people who enjoy challenging themselves whether it is by doing CrossFit training, running, cycling, hiking, obstacle courses or CrossFit competitions. CrossFit MaxOn members vary in age from teens to sixties. By scaling movements & WODs (workout of the day), classes are suitable for a wide range of fitness levels and abilities. Our membership is 50:50 male/female which creates a nice feel and balance to our box.

"If you want to be fitter, faster, stronger, better and enjoy getting there, this is the place for you. I honestly didn't believe it was the place for me to start with. Before starting nearly a year ago, i had never lifted a weighted bar. Something i looked at with fear. But you get into the groove of it all, the sessions, the other members, the coaches are great and working out becomes fun.
I can honestly say that CrossFit MaxOn has not only made me a fitter person, but a better one too. I am now plenty fitter, a great deal stronger, and most importantly, less stressed.
The atmosphere is great, every session. The coaches cater for your needs and are sympathetic towards existing injuries and correct technique so that you don't generate further injuries.
Is it all worth it - HELL YES!
What are you waiting for - get signed up."John Broom

"I'm not at all sporty & skived off as much school PE as I could, BUT - I genuinely enjoy coming here & have changed my shape in the process. Lovely crowd & Sally & Lucasz really make sure you're safe, using correct technique & help you to be the best you can. No judgement, all encouragement!"Suzanne Copeland

"I've been with them for almost 2 years (when they were known as SC360) and loved every minute. Great CrossFit workouts, a really friendly and supportive environment and 2 of the best coaches in Sally and Lukasz you could ever want. I can't recommend it highly enough."Jon Carnell

"I have just finished my first week at CrossFit Maxon and it's been fantastic! Well structured sessions which are challenging for all abilities. The equipment is great and the environment is very welcoming. The other members I have met so far are a great bunch and I am looking forward to meeting everyone else. Sally and Lukasz clearly know their stuff and my lifting technique has already improved after only a few sessions. I can't recommend this gym highly enough."Liam McAulay

"I was looking to find something to support my 10k / Half Marathon running, particularly strength and mobility. Six weeks in at MaxOn and I have found it. The structured sessions allow you to go at your own pace and ability, and the main aim for Sally & Lukasz is for you to enjoy your workout whilst making steady progress. They are both interested in your long-term development rather than any quick gains which is very reassuring if it is your first time with free weights or high intensity workouts. The other members are very supportive and make each session a good laugh with a wide range of abilities at each. If you are in any doubt, sign up for the free session and meet the team!"David Redfern

"A 56 year old occasional cyclist, I wanted more, organised, exercise. A member recommended CrossFit Maxon. I'm delighted to discover its friendly atmosphere. There's a wide range of abilities. We're encouraged to achieve our individual goals. No pressure, just clear advice on how much to do. Sally and Lukasz seem highly skilled because they can explain each routine in detail. Great for a learner. They take care to watch your progress closely. And they're creative because no work out is like the last one! Thank you Guys!"Mark Burgess
